Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2, 2026
1. Who we are
Bytewaves ("we", "our", "us") publishes technology reviews, comparisons, tutorials, and industry analysis at bytewaves.news. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you visit our site.
Bytewaves is an editorial publisher. We do not sell user accounts, operate a marketplace, or process payments on this site.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
We currently do not offer user accounts, registration, public contact forms, or other features that require users to submit personal information directly through the Site. As a result, we do not intentionally collect personal information that you actively provide to us through the Site.
2.2 Automatically collected information
When you visit the Site, our hosting and analytics providers may process technical data such as your IP address (often truncated or anonymized), browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate geographic region. We use this data in aggregate to understand traffic patterns and improve performance.
2.3 Information we do not collect
We do not require you to create an account to read our content. We do not knowingly collect government ID numbers, payment card details, precise GPS location, or sensitive health information through the Site.
3. Analytics (cookieless)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate traffic and site performance. This service is designed to be privacy-preserving: it does not use cookies for tracking, does not track you across other websites, and does not build individual user profiles. Under typical GDPR interpretations, cookieless analytics of this kind does not require a consent banner.
Cloudflare may process anonymized metrics such as page views, referrers, device type, and country. We use this data only to understand how the Site is used and to improve content and performance. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
4. Advertising and third-party cookies
We may display third-party advertisements (for example Google AdSense). Advertising partners may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to deliver, personalize (where permitted), and measure ads. Those partners operate under their own privacy policies.
If personalized ads are enabled, you can manage Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com. You can also use your browser settings to block or delete cookies.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, secure, and maintain the Site
- Understand aggregate readership and content performance
- Respond to email inquiries you send us
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process personal data on the following bases:
- Legitimate interests — operating the Site, analytics, security, and improving our content, balanced against your privacy rights
- Consent — where required for non-essential cookies (for example personalized advertising, if enabled)
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what categories of information are collected and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA).
8. Data retention
Analytics data is retained by our providers according to their policies, typically in aggregated form. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable business record-keeping, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
9. International transfers
Bytewaves is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
10. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a general technical audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Third-party links
Our articles link to external tools, documentation, and vendor sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Review their policies before providing personal information.
12. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, CDN protection, and access controls appropriate to a static publishing site. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices, technology, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
